Chris Kay's Motivational Monday

Hope you all had an amazing weekend! Welcoming the week, we start with a Motivational Monday about an amazing woman, Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe. She is a woman of strength and inspiration, standing up against the Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and risking her life to help the women and children who fell victim to the LRA capturings. Sister Rosemary opened the St. Monica’s Girls Tailoring School in Northern Uganda to create a place where woman can come and learn a craft to help them survive since most have been shun by their towns after being released from the LRA. Many women have had children with men who were their captors and these children are also shun from society, causing these women to be completely on their own and dealing with the shame and horrific memories of their past.

Sister Rosemary knew her calling was to help these women and children and so she has brought them to her school and not only has taught them trades, how to farm, how to cook, and how to spread their knowledge, but she has also taught them how to love and live with dignity. She teaches them that the 'future cannot be defined by the conflict of their past' and encourages them to rise above the rebels and become loving mothers and independent women. Sister Rosemary was named Time's 100 of 2014 and is bringing the attention of the world to these "lost girls" who need global support.
